this morning, having plotted ahead, i got up an hour before l needed to start getting ready for school, abandoned the boys in bed, and, with a rough route in mind, went running (for the first time in over a year!). i managed to put on my heart monitor strap, but not the watch, so i have no idea how i did heart rate or time wise (i also later discovered that my heart monitor needs a new battery or something anyway), but i did make it a mile. (a mile may not be much, but it's a lot farther than i suspected i'd get.)
roughly: brief stretch, 1 mile running, fairly slow, ~.8 miles walking, even briefer stretch.
so much better than nothing.
the plan, from here on out, is to try the getting up early on a regular basis, then run, bike or swim in the mornings and perhaps manage that sprint distance tri i have my eye on for november.
